colony colonial crankset
« on: April 08, 2013, 07:51:10 PM »
so,this crankset is on offer at ff.
i am thinking to get one and i want to put a spline drive sprocket,i noticed that the right side has bigger diameter and it is short so it will not fit there.the second solution is to put the spline drive sprocket on the left side and flipp it so the amr bolt and pedals will be tighten opposite.so my question can someboy try to    put a spline drive sprocket in the normal left side ti see if it works.if it will fit, even for a little..i have a tree 4mm crmo sprocket so it will be fine as for gap and space..
i want to do this because i hate small sprockets, smaller thean 20 t my knees are start to have pain from pedalling...
and the second solution is a profile or khe cranks but colony is lighter and half price.
i am in the market for 160 or 165 mm cranks by the way so pm me in case you have something..

I run these cranks with a splined sprocket, and like you said, you have to run them reverse.

I went as far as to (eventually) swap my pedal bodies around, so it all looks normal.

I haven't had any issues with the pedals themselves loosening.
