Quamen G1
« on: February 17, 2013, 03:40:37 AM »
I am purchasing a OG Mid School Quamen G1 FOR 110$. Im guessing their are only a few hundred of these in the world since quamen only produces very few frames anyway. Its in good condition too. But is it WORTH it? Please help. Thanks, ZeroColourz

I guess it depends how much it's worth to you?

Is it the OG quamen with the bent seat stays?  If so, I wouldn't think twice about spending that on the first ever Quamen frame made.

nope - rode a baby blue one bitd, fairly common frame over here in singapore even though they use to cost $650 after discount - maybe 10 or more?
used quamens over here typically cost around $50 to $100 singapore dollars.
fairly flexy frame considering the era it's from, but not as much as the stm i'm riding now.
the usa bottom bracket is smaller than usual, making installation of the bearing cups a task - my friend and i had to machine our cups down to fit - i had to remove 1.5mm of material all round, if i remembered correctly; another dunk his cups with bearings into dry ice for an hour, hot air gunning his shell before doing the cold-into-hot installation.

Building a mid school bike out of it, mostly for show. Not gonna use as a main rider.
