Work space: Where do you work on your bike?
« on: December 30, 2012, 08:06:43 PM »
I don't like working on my bike much but when I do I want to have all tools and parts ready and within arms reach.  It makes the project of tuning up or replacing broken parts go more quickly.

love it. I want something setup like this when I can afford a bike and somewhere to keep stuff.

Luck man

No vice I see though, I used to put a thick rag in the vice put the frame or whatever part I'm working on it it. Made life so much better than working on a upside down bike  :D  And it was nice for putting in the bb in the frame. I dont like the whole hit it with wood and mallet.

Bri-jon,  Yes.  I am going up to the hardware store to get a table vise and bolt it to the bench.  Something like this:

Conservatory or the spare bedroom/gaming room (most of the tools are in the wardrobes) Id love to have a work bench with all my tools hanging in a particular fashion.

Wow, I usually use the livingroom floor.

I'm lucky to have a very understanding wife.

Living room floor, with a bulldog overseeing the operation.

My place is small so I just work in my bedroom usually sitting on the bed in comfort.
Not the best setup, but I get the job done.

Rear patio of the house, or in the back shed. Patio has nice, smooth concrete. If it's raining, I can just use the limited space in the shed.

Either the garage with my stand or the living room while watching tv when my family falls asleep. Always grease my coasters in my living room

Ive turned the basement into a BMX heaven with bike stands, display cases and a lot of my tools and my favourite bikes I collect. I don't watch TV or play videogames so if I'm not riding or working, I'm usually just sitting in the bike room staring at stuff. Some people find it creepy, I find it comforting.

If its really nice outside, I'll work out in the garage where I have my Vice and a crappy plastic table.

Alot of my friends bring their bikes to my place to get stuff done, I like it!

If anyone is ever in southern ontario, please stop by! I'd love to share my collection with people who share the same interests.

On my couch, in front of the tv, on my dining table, on the kitchen floor, in the bathroom tub.  Owh,  and of course the garage. I do my work on my bike everywhere.  ::)

And the best thing, my girl doesnt mind.
