Standard Bykes flatland frame!
« on: December 01, 2012, 07:15:12 PM »
Hey everyone! I recently had a frame custom made by Standard and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. Apparently Rick Moliterno is also very pleased with how the frame turned out and he is now looking to make a production version of my frame. I kinda want to just gauge interest in the flatland world so I can give Rick some input.
Here are the specs: 18.5" top tube, 12.75" chainstay, 75° head angle, 71° seat angle, low stand over height, 11.8" Bb height, removable brake hardware, 0.49 ox platinum tubing, integrated head tube, mid bb. Any thoughts on what you guys maybe interested in seeing in a production version?

19.25"/19.5" with a 13" Back end would sell like hot cakes!

Also DO NOT use removable mounts. Welded mounts or no mounts.

I'm not certain of the price yet. More details will be available when production is closer

Looks great from here, but I'd love to see more pix of the rear end. I'd vote for an 18.7" size.

Longer dropouts. Enough to be able to ride your wheel without slamming it while running tensioners.

Another straight tube bmx frame. Please make it a bit more stylish. No need to be a super bent tube but at least a raised head tube with gusset like the Standard Tao.

Or the pierced seat tube/top tube junction!

don't get me wrong, sbc fan here; but it's..... kind'a ho-hum, lazy even.

there's nothing to distinguish it visually from run-of-the-mill taiwanese/ generic usa-made diamond frame other than the stickers.
(think of mercedes, porsche >> sta or tao's gusset style)

the geometry is pretty standard (pun unintended), it's not anti-rust treated and if it's priced above flatware's tango, waltz v2, jungle rider's holiday, i don't see a big market for it like the shorty and tao was for standard bykes.

and if ox platinium is as strong as it is, why 0.49 tubing thickness throughtout? heavy won't it be?

I really like the white decals on RAW.
How is the rear dropouts in regards to the end caps of the chain and seat stays?
