One of a kind: KHE Titanium frame for sale
« on: June 29, 2012, 02:20:02 PM »

KHE is selling their titanium prototype frame. It's really one of a kind and therefore a bit of a collectors piece. The specs (especially the weight) are impressive tho. Weight: 1022g/2.25lbs; TT:48cm/18,9"; CS:33cm/13"

If you are interested you can buy that baby for 799euro. Just keep in mind that there is no warrenty..

Speaking of light frames - is the super low weight hype a thing of the past?

why do they keep making "rare" ti flat frames each year??? Yeah I know someone will buy it but its a shame for a frame to be made and never ridden.
"sh*t + talkers = stalkers lol"

Sold my bike to emigrate to Canada and still waiting for a Visa to work. Worst mistake EVER!

I think these sort of one off frames are more so to test the feasibility and 3rd party factories.
I am not sure if they are made each year ... more so cleaning out the closet from past ideas than never went into production.

ya it's is, but it's also more brittle. it continues to "age" even after chemical bath heat treatment, like aluminium; and it's strenght, ductility continues to drop even if its just a show case piece. titanium and aluminuim frames just have limited life span, think of it like a f1 sports car engine.

^keep on dreaming^  there's always pros and cons in life... maybe when they (scientists/ metalurgists) discover a new alloy called "unobtainium" which is a light as plastic, dense as magnesium, have ductility of gold, doesn't suffer from embrittalment issue of welding, won't degrade under uv lights and so on and so froth; then you will get a lighter bike with a long life span.
