Khe Reverse/Astern help.

(1/1)

Bryansyodaddy:
Okay guys so my freecoaster sucks fasodfisjf;sfsdjkfanhsdflhasfjhskjlfahldhfashfivbabow

I blow out my driver bearings and not even the bikeshop could take out the metal ring in the driver.
So I bought the KHE Astern upgrade kit for my Reverse. I even bought new cone nuts.

Yet now that that's fixed, my reverse is slipping.

It's not that the axle is set on full slack because it's not. It isn't the driver bearings or the thread in the clutch and driver. The axle is brand new. Cone nuts I've tried having them on loose and tight.  It doesn't really slip but what happens is it will engage like normal but with like a weird slip feeling to it almost as if it has a lot of grease (which it doesn't really I've tried with a bunch and none),it disengages when I stop pedaling, and then sometimes it will take a half to full turn for it to engage.
Anyone know how to fix it? I'm thinking it might just be the clutch stop(the removable bump thing inside the hub shell driver side that the clutch catches on) that's worn out or something.
Anyone help?

Hi,
so you have a complete nex axle? This would mean the spring which goes diametrically through the axle and holds the clutch during engaging is also new. Otherwise I would have assumed that this spring could be too weak.
If the whole axle including the clutch is new, I think the only reason is the one you mentioned: The hollow steel cylinder piece inside the hub shell is worn out somehow. I have never heard of this happening to these freecoasters and it would suprise me because the clutch and this hollow cylinder are kind of conical shaped. The idea behind this is that the clutch just goes further in axial direction as long as it takes to be pressed really hard against the outer part. I think the idea behind this is that the whole system is kind of self-adjusting. If the cylinder is worn out a little bit, the clutch just goes more to the driver side.
Maybe you find someone with a similar KHE internals freecoaster so you can disassemble both and you can compare both parts.
