14mm hubset for new bike
coaster:
Please post some pix of the Catweasle. I had the bike also back in the day....
DaddyCool:
This is the bike I once had build up. It was a second bike at this time, I have not ridden it like this very often.
In 1996 I had this frame built up as my main bike. With brakes and some better parts.
DaddyCool:
I was riding this bike with a Suzue 48 H SB front hub and the old "Alberts Rollvergnügen" 10 mm KHE coaster. Long time ago...
CatWeasle:
I'll take some shots tomorrow in the light.
DaddyCool- a sweet piece of kit if u can find one is the FishBone X-UFO detangler, they go on the old-style headset 4 the vintage project if ya fancy.
KHE were making some peachy flat frames at this time. I'd love a Morales from this period. Was it the KHE Premium Lagger I am thinking of?
Hope yous r into my build if it happens. I wanna be a little buffer, and gyms don't interest me in the slightest. It's cool also to progress, means more to me than pushing weights. Lots more fun to roll.
I guess I should be back on-topic--
so what other 14mm coasters are there? I'm still tempted by the Greyhound though-then I can get a matched front hub
edit: You guys have gotten ahead of me in the years no doubt, it's a solid one,-prolly weighs a ton compared to modern steeds, I check the pics DC 8D
DaddyCool:
The Greyhound is offered in different versions. The flatland version has a aluminium inner axle, the street version has a crmo inner axle and thus should have less risk to strip the threads. Have a look on the KHE homepage, you can see all the differences there. The Greyhound adjustable is basically like the Astern, just with another hun shell...
An alterative would be the Nankai Bamboo in 14 mm. Or maybe the Stolen?

This has a different mechanism as far as I know "for instant disengagement without backpedaling". Might be a little strange in the beginning.
I can not tell more about those two, I have never used them.
Premium Lagger? I was riding this one for many years. With some modern parts it was around 14 kg.
