hi CJ, a few pics of my custom Intrikat 20.5tt, 13.5rear, 7.35so, 75* head angle in translucant black. im so stoked on the frame, so is my puppy Pippa . i was worried that i might have problems with the chain length ( as some riders have said that they couldnt get it dailed in) but my big basla pegs fit great and chain is just right -im on a 24/12 gearing. though today my seat clamp bolt (intergrated) snapped as the seat hit the floor, i may have over tightend it but it seemed weak from start. overall i give this frame 10/10 i cant see me ever getting a new frame. so props to chad & s&m. peace shane baptiste

With the 13.5 rear do you clip your feet on the pegs or has the added length addressed it?

I want to run this frame with Tree Big Balsa pegs and a tensioner...is this possible?  It looks like the stays are quite short.

I run a modified Hoffman tensioner on the chainwheel side.

How did you modify it?
Any pics?

Could you post a pic?  I want to get this frame but I don't want to run without a tensioner.  They make life just so much easier.

On a related note, I'm always amazed at how people set up their back wheel to be so difficult to deal with.  A tensioner will let you set up the perfect amount of chain tension, align the wheel perfectly in the dropouts, and keep the wheel from moving sideways as easily when it's hit hard from a side angle.  It doesn't take any extra time to set up and newer ones weigh next to nothing.  It's a must-have for me.  Don't even get me started with the people so set on running their back wheel completely slammed, so they'd rather break the chain every time they get a flat or have to take the back wheel off than have an extra .125 of wheelbase.  I don't get it.

Here is a Pic of the tensioner I am running.  Basically, the tensioner comes with 3 different adjuster allen head screws and you have the choose the right one.  Neither fit perfectly, so put a washer on it and had to kind of rig it - but it works.  I am running 27-11/12 gearing (can't exactly remember the freecoaster cog) and have to run a master link and break it at at the master every time to get the wheel off.  If I run it with a half-link more, it enables the removal of the chain w/o breaking it, but it puts the wheel clear to the back of the dropout and the peg is hanging off the back of drop-out.  I agree with your philosophy - tensioners are the way to go - they straighten everything out perfectly and get it all lined up and weigh hardly anything.  But for some reason some guys don't like running them.  Basically, what I have found with the short drop-out frames is that you have to keep a variety of sprockets / gear ratios laying around with tensioners and a half-link / master and hope for the best.  Once it's all sorted it's not really a big deal.  Until then it's an absolute headache.  The simple solution would be to make the drop-out 1/4-1/2 inch longer and include integrated tensioners and then no one would have any problems.  This is a great frame - In my opinion, the only drawback is the short dropouts and lack of integrated tensioners.

is there such thing as a tensioner that also adapts a 3/8 axle to a 14mm dropout?
