Cutting fork dropouts

I have my eye on a set of tanakas. I ride 14mm axles. Im damn good with an angle grinder.....
What you guys think?

I'd measure a set first if you can. The way the leg is welded on the inside and the two holes at the end of the dropout might cause problems or they might just disappear.

Hubs are far cheaper than a pair of forks, your time , and bike parts breaking under you.
There are plenty of hubs on the market that can withstand just as much, if not more abuse as a 14mm axle hub.

Well im kinda on a budget. I cant just throw down cash on a new wheelset and forks but thanks guys.

Hi,
I have had OG Vajda and Odyssey Classic forks grinded to 14 mm. As the dropouts are heat treated (as the whole fork) it is not so easy. I would ask some people with a professional milling machine.
I think the newer Tanakas have holes pretty close to the axle slit. These could be to close to widen the slit without reaching them...
In the case of the OG and Odyssey forks I have not had any kind of problems with the modified dropouts.
