This bothers me because the frame is more or less what I would order custom if I was building a bike from scratch. I like the silver finish and the integrated tensioner is awesome. Chad is an icon to my generation of riders and I'm stoked that he's got his own biz going. But I'm a strong believer in 4130. It doesn't have to be some crazy Columbus Nivacrom or expensive Waterford tubing, but at least Japanese Sanko would've been nice.
I guess we do agree, sorry if I sounded rude there bud! I got the info direct from Chad last week: "4130 chromoly heat treated head tube, BB and drop outs...double butted downtube, no steel sh*t on those..." So only the HT, BB, and drops are 4130. No word from Chad on what the rest of the tubes are made from, I'm guessing either low grade cro-mo or hi-tensile steel. Mystery solved.
I don't really care what material he makes the bikes out of, there are high level and low level frames and not every bike has to be made from the very highest quality stuff. But I was just wondering why a frame with material choices that, without sounding rude, you'd find on $400 mid to low level Sunday, Fit, or DK tri moly complete retailing as a frame alone for the same amount of money as frames that are full 4130.
