Half link chain. Horrendous noise.

Just trying out a shadow conspiricy half link chain.
Ir makes a horrible noise like the wratchet in a socket driver. Seems to be as each link engages and disengages the hub driver.
What's it all about?

Gearing is 22/9. Sprocket is an Autum shutter. Hub is a Geisha light. Just installed yeah.

That sprocket has offset teeth that help with chain alignment, halflink chains are taller than regular chains. So the chain is riding up on the ridge of the sprocket, or at least that’s what I think. Put your regular chain back on, and mod one halklink not to ride up.

They don't look offset? They all run parallel in the centre of the sprocket.
I will likely give up on it.
Thanks all the same.

It's the right way up for sure. Pins are miles away from anything too. It's very loud which is quite unsettling.

Are you sure that the chain isn't 3/32" and your sprocket 1/8"? Does your chain sit perfectly on the sprocket? Have you greased it a little? Is it aligned with the sprocket and the back hub? Are you sure it isn't overtightened?
If the answer to all of this is yes then it may be the chain's fault...

Was the driver used for the previous chain? Sounds like the teeth are worn enough to make the new chain constantly hop the teeth.

It's a 1/8" chain. The sprocket is the same. The hub driver has narrower teeth however. It's not perfectly in line which could be the issue. The Deep Blitz has extra wide chain stays for some reason. It could be to do with alignment. Normal 1/8" chains run super smooth so I think I will just give up on this.
Thanks for all the advice everyone.

Either way, youd be better off just running a normal link chain. They run smoother and are actually lighter. U know, just in case youre into both of those nice attributes.
Just use a normal half link to dial in your regular chains length. Works great.

Had the same problem. With a 22tooth sproket, The chain rubs the sproket crank bolt boss. So I installed a spacer in front of the sproket and crank arm. Bought a fine thread set screw to replace the sproket bolt. Works good.. If you need pics have them
