I rode some heavy bikes in the past.  I'm glad bikes are not 40-50lbs anymore and it helps younger riders too.

This is awesome, I really hope they stick with it! My sister started flat at 11 but stopped at 16 when I took a break from it, her reason was it was boring on her own and she liked having a little bit of competition and guidance from other riders. She can still do a few moves now at 23:) I think younger riders need someone to feed off and keep focused. I hope to get my nephew riding flat once he's old enough and riding a bike!
