Anyone remember the Quamen Lardset ....

If so, looking back on it.
What were the negative aspects of it? (was it just seating ... or was it wear and tear and other issues?)

Never had a single problem with mine. Actually, it is still being ridden by a friend I sold my frame to. It has been in use since August 2006, I only changed the headset bearings once in late 2010.
