Last weekend, I traveled to Greenville, NC with Chris Przepiora and George Wilson to compete at the trans jam. While we were there, we had the pleasure of meeting Chilean pro rider Raul Figueroa Salinas. Immediately after arriving, I noticed Raul practicing. I was blown away by his aggressive, yet effortless flow and style and his lack of adherance to the current trendy tricks/lines. I went up to congratulate him on his run. Since he spoke little English, I was happy to serve as his ad-hoc translator for the day. He mentioned that he had nowhere really to stay for the 3 weeks he would be stateside, so we concluded that he should come back to Virginia with us for a week of riding with our small creaw in Norfolk/VA Beach.
 
We also figured it would be a great opportunity to put together a nice video for him to take back as a souvenir. Raul's enthusiasm for the joy of riding and his motivating presence left our crew pumped up, unified and one member deeper.
 
As a videographer, it was awesome to work with him on this not just because he was able to communicate his vision so well, but because we had such a similar idea for the aesthetic of the video - something personal that conveyed the essence and intimacy of his riding.
