Monthly Colorado Flatland Jam

<< < (14/21) > >>

Jake4130:
Such a great Jam today as always. Great bunch of guys, great riding and a whole lot of fun. Actually rode a lot longer this time around! I think ending it with a beer might be a good idea going forward. Thanks to everybody for coming out. Will be doing a little more at the next one so keep an eye out.

Don't forget, next week we will not be having our regular session. Apparently DK Bicycles is sending out this dude named Dane Beardsley (you might have heard of him ;) ) to ride at Joe's Bike Shop. Cant wait. Colorado flatland is blowin up!

Jake4130:
Here it is! The 2012 Midwest Road Trip edit. It is long at 28 min, but is meant to be more like the full length videos we used to watch bitd. So sit back... get yourself a bowl of popcorn and a root beer and enjoy it!

Jake4130:
FINALLY! Details on the next session!

Having had the 4th of July in the middle of things this week, I apologize for getting this out so late.

This weeks session will be on Saturday at 4pm at:

Skate Park at Discovery Park
3701 Johnson St. (W. 38th and Kipling)
Wheat Ridge, CO 80033

This spot was suggested by Dusten so we figured it was worth a shot. Of course that is if it doesn't rain. Its supposed to be cooler that day and there is a chance of getting rained out.

Jake4130:

And announcing a little late but....

Colorado Flatland Jams: Dog Days Jam and Cook Out

Date: Saturday, July 14th, 2012
Time: 2:00pm until ?

Location: Fort Lupton Skate Park 203 South Harrison Avenue, Fort Lupton, Colorado 80621

Its mid summer guys! Time to celebrate the summer and get out and ride, and eat some burgers and dogs and have fun with our families and friends that support us doing this every month!

We are chaining things up this month and having the Jam the middle of the month to avoid the Forth of July holiday. Location is the Fort Lupton Skatepark as it is a spot we know well, has picnic areas where we can cook and plenty for the kids to do. Time will be the same at 2pm and will go as long as we want to ride and until family and friends are full, tired and all out of stuff to talk about.

Don't forget to mark the date and spread the word. Anyone is welcome so bring your family and friends to watch, ride and hangout! Pass the word to anyone that would be interested! Skill level isn't important. This is BMX, so if you ride, your family! New school, old school, mid school, preschool, doesn't matter. We like it all! Bring sunscreen and bug spray just in case.

We will have burgers, dogs, water and some pop, but if you want to bring something to contribute, please do!

See you all there!

************************************

These monthly jams are held on the first Saturday of each month from 2pm to ?-? in the same spot near Cherry Creek Shopping Center (unless posted otherwise) so mark your calendars. Of course that is weather permitting.

So come on out and support Colorado flatland!

Jake4130:

OK time I posted an update on yesterdays Jam.

UN......FREAKING.....BELIEVABLE!

If you didn't make it out, you completely missed out. First we didn't give much notice on this one (less than a week and a half). Second we had the jam in this nowhere town up north called Fort Lupton (which always shocks me when people come up). With that we still had a great turn out and really were only missing a few riders. Such a blast. I know that Robert and I put a lot into these and really when it comes down to it, we just want to ride with our friends and that is enough to make it fun; that is our core purpose. To have so many of our friends show up and get crazy made it that much better!

This jam was, I think, the best one we have had so far. The vibe was great and all had a blast. Some myths were dispelled and the community of flatlanders seemed stronger. Some great tricks pulled, some new progression and overall just a blast of a time. This is what flatland is supposed to be!

Burgers never tasted so good! Thanks Stein for grilling 'em up and Robert for supplying the food. (hay Jason! Can you bring dogs? lol)

Thanks for all who came and rode, inspired and hung out to have fun. We even had two gimpy guys (Stein and Dusten) there that couldn't ride, filming for us and just hanging out. That shows its about friends and the riding is second. Thanks to Robert for always helping me to throw this thing together and helping to make it better every step of the way.

Most progression award goes to Koit McIntire for sure for fulfilling an agreement with my daughter and learning 5 new things. Actually learned 8. A really close second was Mike that always has a ton of new stuff every time I see him ride. (And anybody with a Standard Bykes front load stem is a good dude in my book.)

The gimpy ones got me a ton of footage so I should have an edit out asap. Want to take my time though and do it right, so bare with me. I have like 3.5 hours of footage to go through lol. Probably going to be a long one, but so what? Its mostly for us that were there to remember anyway. Can't capture this good of a time in a three min edit.

Next jam is in only three weeks, tentatively scheduled for August 4th. Keep your eyes open for more info as well as info about next weekends practice session.
