13th july - the day that my Aquilles f*cked up
« on: July 30, 2011, 09:33:17 PM »
hello to all global flat participants. Well, as said on the subjecct, at 13th of july I've f*cked up pretty bad my aquilles tendon (almost complete rupture during flatland practice, doing absoletelly nothing, my foot was on air, kicking a megaspin), and since that, I am  not even thinking about riding bikes, to reduce my already big suffering

So I wolud like to make a question, anyone of you had that same problem before? If so, did you manage to get back at you bike ok??? I am really affraid of having to let go flatland, the only sport that I practice since i am 14 years old... I'm 27 right now, and never in my whole life cryied only with the possibility of losing something...

life sucks sometimes

Thats the saddest story i Ever heard that has to so smth with Flat!
There are different Things i maybe would so:
1. Stop Riding Forever.
2. If you love it you will Ever Ride so take a Little brake.
3. Watch motivating Videos.
4. Just Ride again And you will feel good with Flat again.
5. Try New tricks.
6. Film yourself riding And edit a nice Video, thats Fun And motivated me sometimes!

you know, i would never stop doing the sport due to that, but I am really affraid of it happening to the other leg as well... Certainly I will have to stop riding this year, since i will start putting my feet on the ground again only by the end of september, so i guess this year already went to sh*t...

you've seen a doctor, right?!
riding with a partially ruptured achilles tendon could effectively cripple you for awhile-best to have surgery if needed, or take proper steps to heal it before even considering riding, running, or anything that puts excess stress on it. that's just common sense...
really sad to hear this from a rider

I've done an emergency operation at the same day, my achilles was "99%" ruptured (the specialist surgeon took pictures of the achilles... lol crazy doctors), but before doing surgery he prevented me that, without it, my leg would be at better conditions at 50% of a normal leg, and with the operation, it would get at 90%... so I made it.
