quick question: breakless rock walk.
« on: July 29, 2011, 09:21:57 PM »
Recently my brake cable snapped to I have been forced to ride breakless. So I am looking for any advice on a breakless rock walk. Not really 100% sure how to approach this trick. I usually try it going slow-medium speed and turn my wheel while leaning forward but can never seem to get the back-end to swing around. Any tips or advice would be helpful, also if it helps I have rock walk with brakes fairly dialled.

carve, keep your hands on your grips steady and firm and lift up the back en with your feet but tweek your back and hips. The trick is also called a g-turn or 180 g-turn if you search it in vimeo or youtube you'll see tons of guys doin it and how-to's as well. you'll learn it pretty quick and wont need the brake for that particular trick unless you wanna do g-strings...

To be nit-picky, a rockwalk is when you spin around really quickly so that you're just rolling backward, whereas a g-turn is when you keep the back up in a nose wheelie during/after the turn

Breakless, AKA without a break, you must be tired from all that riding without a break.  So your cable snapped and you haven't been able to stop without the use of your "BRAKES"? ;D
