If your feet hurt from standing on your top tube but not from your pegs, something is wrong with you.

You would think it was that simple, but you actually stand in that area differently than a peg.

Very true. Plus I think if someone released "______ technology that makes standing on your pegs more comfortable and at worst adds just a little bit of weight to your bike", we would all be all over it I think.
