Sounds really cool, but hectic with all the people there.

hotel info would be great, the sooner the better.

i'm too old for tents..

Bryan, hotel rates the weekend of the race are gonna be retardedly high. I will put this out there, anyone who wants to crash at my house can do so, just bring an air mattress. I live about 35 minutes from the track, and I will have my indoor spot finished well before that, so we can session into the night and beyond! Anyone interested, get ahold of me here, or at Unknownsports4130@yahoo.com, L8r Joe

The day of the event this track does not charge to get in. So any riders or spectators should not have an issue of entering the facillity.

If it hasn't been thought of already, what would the cost be to get in the track on the Sunday if it does rain on the Saturday?

stop bitching and man up Danny
if you really wanted to compete, get your ass off the couch and put in work like everyone else.

don't say oh i have a full time job/family/kids/ etc cause that is no excuse

there ARE 30+ old riders out there that continue to kick ass despite the responsibility in life

if you really wanted to do something in life, you can find the time to practice and progress

sacrifice time from TV/Bar hoping/porn/ etc...

Theory - There will be no fee, besides the entry fee, regardless of the day for the participants. Spectators for the event may have to pay a small fee on Sunday, since it will be race day.

1.  Red Bull Battle at the Bricks is gonna be awesome!!!!

2.  I think the Vet class is important.  It's for guys who like to compete but feel out of place in beginner or intermediate.  I think the Vet class will start to draw more and more riders once word gets out about it.  I know of quite a few guys who would probably come out of the woodwork to ride in this class.

Can't wait for Battle at the Bricks.  I think it is gonna be the comp of the year!!!

Looks like there will be plenty of fences to put banners on, and plenty of room to put bleachers in front of said banners so that nobody can see them.

I'm a racing fan, and familiar with the Indycar fanatics. (more of an F1 fan myself)

For those looking for rooms, I might suggest going to speedtv.com and joining the Indycar forum and ask them about hotels. Many Indycar fans are Indiana natives and know many "secrets" about going to the 500. They might be of some assistance.

Good luck, I'd like to go to see both the bikes and the cars.

Ok, that's pretty harsh words I must say. I'm gonna stick my neck out here and defend my boy Danny by saying, responsibilities as a married man with kids and a wife do cut in to the riding time. Considerably. Hell, I'd go as far as saying with the level of riding out there and the lack of riding on my part, I might need the Vet class myself. Having the Vet class makes it fun for everyone. Some of us can't afford the luxury of flying to a comp, paying 'top dollar' for a room to just spectate. Alan and Jake I hope you're hearing this. If it weren't for people like Joe Miller some us wouldn't make it at all. BTW, yo Joe thanks and your pegs are coming my brother. Please no one attack me, I'm just making an observation and what I think is a valid point. Lee/Huck

Ok so I just called about 5 places around the airport - all hotels already booked or over 199 a night. Went with a Super 8 in plainfield, in about 10 miles from the speedway. $150 a night which divided between 3 of us wont be bad. I'll keep an eye for a host hotel but wanted something just in case. I suggest you start calling if you are going to this contest as I'm guessing its just going to get harder to find a place nearby. LAter.

We are working on a hotel right now, but for the time being try to find something around the I-465 loop.

Remember to pair or bunk up to make the costs easier. The event will be well worth it not only for the contest, but for all the parties, events and goodtimes going on.

Let's recap on a few things.  As far as harsh words are concerned, I do believe it was Danny who posted this:
f*ck THE AM CIRCUIT .............WOW I GET POINTS AND YOU WIN WHAT?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

MY NAME IS DANNY HARRISON AND I APPROVE THIS MESSAGE
I must say, he's quite graceful.

And as far as a Vet class being needed for guys who play the, "I'm married, I have kids, I have a full time job, I have this, I have that, etc.," card, let's have an under 18 class, an 18-21 class, and 22-25 class, and a 26-29 class, just to keep it fair.  Because I'm pretty sure that there are riders that are under 30, with less years of riding experience than the guys competing in Vet, that are married, have children, and a full time job.  Should they get a separate class as well?
I know, let's make an "Excuse" class, just for those who find themselves unable to man up, and swallow whatever pride they have, and compete at an appropriate class.  So you were once top master, or whatever, and slacked off because of responsibilities?  Guess what, there is a beginner class, or expert class.

Huffman is over 30 and still competes with everyone else.  Does he bitch?
Back4Good has kids and a job, and is riding super hard.
Guess what?  I go to school, study, do homework, work 30 hours a week, have family responsibilities (amongst others), do side work, and practice another hobby, and still put the time in to ride.

How does a class make a contest fun for everyone, Huck?  A contest isn't a jam.  A contest is a display of what you can do, and whether you can do it up against others of similar caliber and being judged.  A jam is for hanging out, riding, and trying new things with other riders without the stress or being judged.  When has a serious contest in any activity ever had fun as it's primary objective?

Ok, Tyler you're just coming off as an idiot now. Contest are supposed to be fun. If they weren't no one would go. I can't believe how stupid you're coming off for someone so intelligent. This is an easy fix. Just add a Vet class and call it good. It doesn't eat up that much time, anyways. Tyler you wouldn't, and haven't, ever talked to me like this in the past. And I too haven't ever disrespected you. I made what I thouight was a good, valid point. And asked to not be attacked. And you did just that. Danny had pulled all his posts so I didn't get a chance to see everything. So ease up bro. Lee/Huck

And for the record I agree with Danny. I too want to go to contest and compete. But, and yes here comes the 'BUT', I too have a 60 hr a week job, kids (at home), a wife and alot of other unmentionable responsibilities. And none of those include porn! So to keep up with guys like Tyler, Isaiah, or even Huffman, are pretty much out of reach. Yeah I love to ride but at the end of my 15/16 hour day all I want to do is sleep. And I know that's my choice. So to accommodate people in lesser classes than expert keeps it fun. And what about Master class then? Why don't those guys step up there game and just go Pro? Keep the whole thing simple. Beginner, expert and pro? You can't please everyone, but try. That's all I'm saying. Lee/Huck

I personally have mixed feelings about the Vet class. There are very valid arguments on both sides of the question. It's worth noting tho, that more and more riders are falling into that class, and by having it, they remain a part of the contest community, bringing money and support. But, like I said, there's a flip side that I could also easily argue, just as valid. I'd like to see the riders who still want to compete, compete; weather that means riding in a class they may do poorly in, or by creating a new class for their peers.

I'm posting here because as a rider that is old enough to be in this class now, I'm curious what the decision is.
