Hi Riders!

This is Alan Young with Battle at the Bricks. The date is set for may 27th-29th, which is the weekend of the Indianapolis 500. This is one of the largest races of the year for the IRL. The contest will take place Saturday the 28th, the day before the race. There will be a concert and driver autograph session day of the event for some variety. Thousands of people will be looking for things to do and whats better than seeing riders from all over busting out.

Make sure to find a hotel soon as it is on a race weekend and hotels fill up soon. Recommendations are a hotel close to the I-465 loop near the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Any questions feel free to ask or send me a personal message.

Hotel rooms will be tough...
Any riders in the area with room in the backyard for tents?
Is the jam outside the track or in the infield?  We do shows at a speedway up here once a month, always fun.

Tuftybmx - The riding area is in the infield, just to the side of the historic Pagoda. It will be right next to the mainstage for the concert, the Pits and suites. So all the action and traffic will be flowing directly through the event.

dan4130 - We have decided to go with the stated classes for the AM Circuit and also numerous requests for a beginner class.

Not a bad idea. The guy I would travel with is competing in vet this year...
But I'm glad to see beginner for me.

that doesnt make sense ......jomopro is part of the circuit and it has a VET. CLASS

It makes plenty of sense.  The people involved in organizing the event made a consensus of what classes would be included in the event.  Yes, there are guys who have been in the game for many years, and in doing so, should have no difficulty competing in a class appropriate for their level of skill/mastery.  I'm sure it's fun competing against the guys from back in the day, just you and them, but you have to remember that as time went on, more people began to pick it up as well, and progress.
What doesn't make sense, is this desire to segregate based on age.  Unless it's an activity in which age is a significant reflection of physical ability (ex: comparing a 5 year old child to a 9 year old), it doesn't play a huge role.

The Am Flat Circuit should have a Vet Class. Why ignore such a huge demographic? The Vet class is for riders 30+ that are not expert level BUT feel out of place in the beginner/intermediate class. Vet riders also tend to be at a place in their life where they can afford the time and money to travel more than other riders. So why not boost contest attendance by having a class that works for these riders? It works at Jomopro just fine.

As with any contest, the organizers get to setup the event to the way they see fit. Lets call it a perk to running and setting up a caliber event for months. JomoPro's organizers have decided to include a Vet class in their event, which is one reason they are talked highly of. With this event being included in the AM Circuit, it MUST have the classes that are being scored in it. If they feel that a Vet class or another class is to be added to the Circuit for points, then we will do so too.

With any event, there is always a time constraint involved, whether it is daylight or hours. With Battle at the Bricks taking place during one of the busiest races of the year, we do not have unlimited time to run the event. We would like to cater to every riders wants, but it is not possible to do so. The more requests we get and the more necessity to have a specific class we will include in future events.

So cool that it will be on the infield. Do you get a wristband when you sign up? Or do you need to pay to get into the track as well?
