Flatland Bmx noob needs a bit help :)
« on: August 25, 2010, 08:43:58 PM »
Ok so I started flatland BMX'ing like month a go and I'm riding with KHE Militant LT. http://www.flatlandfuel.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1308

And I'm not sure if the handlebar is right for my size, I'm 176 cm tall (bout 70" I think?) and my shoulders are 46 cm wide (18") so what size should my handlebar be? And is there any parts on KHE militant lt which I should change?

And any advice/videos etc. how should I start training rolling tricks when I do so :)

Thank you.

its different for everyone. But I'm 5'7" and ride 8" tall bars. My back hurts riding anything less than 8" for some reason

There aint no right size, it all depends on your riding style(witch you will get while simply practicing) and after time you will see if the size and geomety fits you. but here are lots of people who might recommend you a few good handlebars, for example i have an Swiftmiss bar/stem combo, and i like it :)

change what breaks. i wouldn't change anything after only a month of riding.

watch the how to's on this site.
the general consensus is fork glides, peg wheelies, and backward steams are good
tricks for starters.

maybe get zero offset forks and zero offset bars that are like 7,5 to 8 inches tall

maybe get zero offset forks and zero offset bars that are like 7,5 to 8 inches tall
both are totally unneeded at this early stage.
