St. Martin Sprocket... haha -.-*
« on: July 30, 2010, 11:28:09 PM »
Why is it, that St. Martin designes a pretty good crank but designes it in a way that only their sh*tty lightweight sprocket fits onto it... This damn thing broke away after one month and now I am so scared to kick hard into the pedals because I dont want to hurt my knee NOR do I want to send it in...

Isn't there any way to get rid of the fear and just have a sprocket that... holds?

i think the cranks are actually clones of shimano mtb crank arms that has british thread on the right crank arm rather than the 5 arm spider that come as standard on the shimano.

if you stripping the threads off the aluminium sprocket - get chromoly ones! can find them at byke shops selling track bikes(racers)

no.

eco flat crank arms= thread (screw on) on sprocket (can use single speed racer bike sprocket/cogs)

hollo flat 2010= "normal" bolt on sprocket

Maybe try drill and tap a small hole to use a little grub screw.

I understand it this far that I can somehow put a bolt on the pin from my current arm so that I can put any kind of sprocket onto it?

I had soooo many problems with sprockets until I got my
Tree Spline-Drive sprocket.  It has been fearless.
I suggest it to everyone.  Although the sprocket body
is aluminum, the piece that actually snugs over the splines
is hardened steel.  You will NEVER strip it out or break it.
NICE!
