HELP ME CHOOSE RIMS!
« on: June 29, 2010, 11:28:53 PM »
Okay I need both rims..

I'm riding hard, well no whoppers and stuff, but still my rims crack, so need new ones, please help me with your suggestions and experience!

for front: 32 or 36h can be one walled, but need strong (excellent if purple)

for back: 36h double wall, really strong (excellent if purple)

Maybe let's play this game.
You go here and suggest 2 of these(front & back):

CR-18's are very weak a hair above single wall rims.

I am EXTREMELY impressed with the KHE Big-O/Alienation Delinquent. I hate the G-sports because they are an absolute bitch to get tires on and off of. A frequency G should not have the veins in your forearms ready to rupture when putting on a rim, I did enough of that when I had triple wall rims back when I started with Primo walls.

So, my vote is the KHE rim. Crazy crazy stiff. Absolutely love mine and it's pretty f*cking light too.

What? Are you joking? I had one in the front and if you leaned the wrong way it felt like it was going to bend in on itself. Run it if you don't ever plan on using that wheel otherwise steer clear of those rims.

Judging from your pics of that rim ondo you may want to ride a Gsport rim or a Fly rim.

This demolition zero rim i have seems to be pretty nice. Spoke holes have pulled up a bit, but not sure what exactly happend there. Feels nice on the hands. Not sure what ill replace it with..Odds are matching Fly or Sun Envy rims.

well, recieved a thrustworthy advice from a street rider, he suggests:

Odyssey Hazard Lite on back wheel
http://flatlandfuel.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=303

Odyssey Quadrant on front wheel
http://flatlandfuel.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1637

The Quadrant on front for saving some money and weight.

Hazards are seriously overkill. You do not need something that beefy. Get quadrants front and back and you've got a very nice wheelset.

What rims did you crack?

I guess it all depends on how you ride...
I have been using some alex race rims, singlewall, and I thought they wouldn't last a month but I was surprised that they are still rolling.. + 2 years...
