Are you joking? I had one in the front and if you leaned the wrong way it felt like it was going to bend in on itself. Run it if you don't ever plan on using that wheel otherwise steer clear of those rims.
What rims did you crack? I guess it all depends on how you ride... I have been using some alex race rims, singlewall, and I thought they wouldn't last a month but I was surprised that they are still rolling.. + 2 years...
Hazards are seriously overkill. You do not need something that beefy. Get quadrants front and back and you've got a very nice wheelset.
