old school frame new forks?
« on: March 09, 2010, 10:34:32 AM »
I am re-entering the world of flatland after 20 years. Man, has it changed! I road with Kevin Jones in TX when he first showed the hitchhiker. Anyway, I want to keep my old Redline RL 20-II frame because I'm 6ft 6 tall but I'm updating other parts. Does anyone know if there is way to make any modern fork work in an old 1 inch headtube (the RL's had to have a 6 inch stearing tube length on the fork) I like the o dgree rake on all the new forks. Thanks in advance for anyone that can help an old guy out.

There are a few members on this board running a 1 1/8 threadless forks into oldschool frames.

I had this link bookmarked:

I entertained this idea for a while...decided to buy new instead.  Good luck!

Remember, grammar is the difference between "I helped my uncle Jack off a horse", and "I helped my uncle jack off a horse".

I just started getting into flatland stuff about 3 days ago and suck so far, I blame my sh*tty bike and lack of practice.
