Huge thanks to Jamie and Dan and anyone else involved.  Had a ton of fun, best contest floor I've ridden on ever I think.

As for Canadian turnout...For ams, it was a great turn out, there were also a lot of am guys not competing but riding over the weekend.  As for pros, Canada doesn't have much in terms of that, Travis Collier hasn't been competing in ages, Jeff Desrosche dropped off the map, but showed up and rode a bit.  Brandon Fenton was there but was judging in between riding.  I can't really think of any other Canadian pros?  Little disappointed not a single American pro made the trip up, but I guess that's the way things are going nowadays.  Great to see a lot of American ams came though!

Thank god for the Japanese guys though. If they hadn't shown up it would've been a three man pro showdown. Top three finish guaranteed.  ^_^

Glad to here the Am turn out was great.

Pro Class is dead in North America for now. I think it will rise again but there are too many factors and reasons why riders do not compete anymore.
As you can see the Japanese and Euro riders do not have those reasons. Their contest are stacked with riders.

Seeing as Akihiko Takahashi is spelt wrong I'm wondering if it was Takaki Fukuda - The super original guy in RUM that was at the event. The one whose section is in the indoor spot and balances all of the hard positions with hands behind his back. Sick rider.

There's a good chance I've also spelt both of those names wrong so don't flame on it too much Mr Spelling Bee!!!

What American pros?  Apart from Terry and Wilhelm, who else in the US is a sponsored, salaried, "pro" these days?  I would guess less than 8 people for sure.  Getting a free frame once a year doesn't count.....

True story Scott, but here in Europe its turning too...
Take our dutch scene, more and more riders dont make a trip to go to a jam/contest..
And i think we are not the only country..

World's changed man - You don't have to go to events to sell sh*t anymore because of internet power!!! These guys don't need the prize money to make money out of riding. Once the prize money increases there love (of money... sorry flatland) will bring them back.

Contests have started to become sterile anyway. It's the same dance routine over and over. If the format changes to shorter runs that reward explosive creativity more (think old KOG masterclass) then I believe we'll see new blood and more interesting events.

I don't know the ins and outs of this event but I'd say that if there were not many pros and a lot of ams around not riding the format could be improved so that everyone was riding - it would pay off in the future.
