UK Flatland only shop
« on: January 31, 2010, 07:35:19 PM »
Buying or even finding flatland components in the UK is beyond mental it drives me nuts just wondering what you guys would think of a flatland only shop opening in the uk?
will it help the uk scene?
will it be far too expensive?
will it die on it's arse?

Was even thinking of a web based sales shop aswell hopefully cutting the costs of shipping from US/European shops?

US and UK opinions please the flatland scene is massive in the US compared to the UK, is it because of ready avalable parts?

Hi there
I had the exact same idea and I am currently in the process of getting set up. I have been trading locally for several years and have decided to concentrate on flatland.
The company has no share holders so profits will be going into sponsoring up and comers, NOT established riders. Also put more funding into establishing flatland clubs to get kids into the sport.
I currently stock KHE and am awaiting a shipment from Deep - hope to stock St Martin, Odyssey, and a few other brands.
If you wish, I can be contacted on sneaker_freak@hotmail.com

this is an ace idea mr massey, shipping makes everything so expensive in the uk, even frequencys are a nightmare to get hold of, let alone any of the oh so handsome colony and ares stuff

Hell yes the UK is ready!!!

The UK has minimum four times as many flatlanders as in Australia. There are loads of flatlanders in the UK. Loads - everywhere - Just not a centralised scene. A shop could be a part of that.

In Australia there is http://www.newcircle.com.au/ which a couple of riders run. It's great - and judging by the changes on the site they shift some product. It's really good for the scene too - We don't need to stockpile tires etc. anymore now!

I don't think there is a single negative in starting this up to be honest.

Maybe Badman will shed some light on the idea?
