I'm in on the hang 5.  I don't have means to post progress vid but I'll be part of the conversation now.  Seems fitting since I was workin on this trick when I was riding before... good place to pick up.
Who is doing the backward cliffhanger?  That's some some shizzle there!

When I get my new bars im gonna try forward cliffhangers.... I've got hang 5 well and truly down, so cliffhangers. Think are start with forward 1st, i hate doing tricks backwards especially when learning them.

I just can't get motivated to learn "hang 5's" i went out yesterday and said right practice these and when i got out there spent all day messing with lung spins & McCircles :-)

I first started trying the Hang-5 2 weeks ago so this thread is a good way to get really motivated on working hard.
I hope to post a little video if I get my hands on a camera ;).

I know April's done but today i hit the sweet spot of the spin and it felt "RAD"

           Lung spin Small | Large
        Small | Large

Hey melon,

How did you stop rotating around backwards in your lungspin? I was working on this and only managed to not rotate around one time and I have no Idea what I did to do that. I also cant seem to flip my bars around to my right hand. The bike goes crazy when I reach down.

It took me ages to get the hang of it ;D

I don't flip the bars i change hands but when i change my hands i was spinning backwards also but i noticed it was only when i moved my body to grab the bike but when i started to bring the bike to me it all started to go right.

Today i hit a couple but i still haven't worked out exactly how i did it yet i just went out about an hour ago but i couldn't even get close >:D

Good luck with it bro i'm gonna start workin' on hang 5's

Good stuff man!  ;D  I haven't been able to get the one handed part at all yet, but I have dork wheelies in a circle pretty good now. Don't know where I read it or heard it, but someone said you have to balance with your core. It was a big 'Duh!' moment for me. Trying to keep the front tire up so I'd put my leg back more, but then I'd lean my core forward and pull with my arms. That worked for a second, but then it'd fall forward. Once I figured out what I was doing wrong it started to click.

Btw, I haven't had the time to film, but when I learned time machines, lung spins came naturally. :D

I think that I'm not going to practise backwards hang-5s because I prefer forward stuff.

RadDad asked me to help out here, and I'm not one to deny the great RadDad! Here's my backwards cliffhanger. Its a little sketchy, going backwards, and the parking is sort of narrow for me on this one, but it still counts!
Trick of the Month May 2012

My best tips for this trick is, first you want to learn how to roll a backwards hang 5 really well. Then roll a bw hang 5 with your seat out front, your butt b/tw the wheel and seat. Learn to roll that really good. Try to line your body up nice and centered with the axle, and try not to bend over too far over, keep your shoulders up. When you can feel the balance of your body and frame rolling together, bring your free foot in and step down on the peg and let go of the bars. If you can get a good bw hang 5 roll with the seat infront you're well on your way.
I do it with my bars backwards because it's hard for me to push the bars down far enough to get my butt behind the seat. It made a big difference for me, it's just extra weird when I half lash to ride out. If you're taller than 5"5 you might have an easier time.
