ya'll have really stepped up the how-to vid's.
i've watched them all at least twice, but i'm having all kinds of trouble.
i'm on my 4th full week, about 30 min's a day just on this trick.
should i stop practicing 3 or 4 tricks and just practice one trick
for the whole session?    i seem to progress slow.

that's what i did for hang 5's.  i HATED practicing them, they were so boring trying that pop-up over and over and not even coming close.  finally i just commited to it and focused solely on hang 5's for a few days.

you can definitely do them, you have all the skills. the thing with hang 5's is they are a little scary at first. if peg wheelies had that fear factor they would take a lot longer to learn.  hang 5's are just peg wheelies with a little fear added :)  to counter that i started going real slow.  that totally gave me the confidence to really lean over the bars and try and touch on that balance point for a second or two.  then pick up the speed a little when you have an idea of how far to lean over.

even after 7 months of doing hang 5's every day i'm still learning little techniques to make them better.

5hane, thanks for posting that vid, I'm going to try your technique next time I get out riding. just one thing you didn't mention though, what PSI do you pump the balloons up to?  :P
Isn't that bike a bit small for you?

the balloons help lift the backwheel and stabilise the back end!

.. no i was just kidding.  when i was making the video some balloons just randomly flew by me and i thought 'what if you could tie a bunch of helium filled balloons to the back of your bike to help learn hang 5's at first?  so i grabbed them up and the rest is...

just a lame joke  ;D

Is there a list for all of the tricks for this year, like there was last year?

I was wanting to film a few things for this but my computer broke.  Today I finally started scuffing bwd hang 5's into fwd hang 5's, which was something I really wanted to film :(

My first week learning hang5s I got so tired of hesitating and not popping it up high enough that I decided I would just throw myself over the bars on purpose and get it out of the way. I ended up spraining my wrists and being off my bike for a week or two. I wish I had known about the ballon method then!!!!!! :P

I was waiting to hear back from a few people I had contacted earlier and I have not had any confirmations. I will send out another message I will have a list by February. I am working at trying to keep Trick of the Month Growing and keep it fun for everyone.
