Remember, grammar is the difference between "I helped my uncle Jack off a horse", and "I helped my uncle jack off a horse".

I just started getting into flatland stuff about 3 days ago and suck so far, I blame my sh*tty bike and lack of practice.

I don't think they'd be uncomfortable, but definelty too pricey considering they we're not made to withstand such abuse.

not if you like your ankles.

rolling your ankles in running shoes sucks.

running shoes aren't even good for running...that is what our bare feet are for.

actualy yes they are very good for riding in, as long as you have good fitting ones with a lot of support.
Its true most running shoes arnt even the best for running for most people, usualy cross trainers are better as they are generaly made to support more of your feet, whereas running shoes are made to be lighter.
Cross trainers and running shoes are actualy made to stand up to more abuse than sneakers are and if you buy good ones they will be stitched not glued and will last longer.
One of the guys I ride with rides in cross trainers that he gets free from work (hes a postie) and he likes them.
Personaly I wear sneakers because I dont have running shoes, and I'm a self absorbed prick who likes to look good.

hope that helps :D

they may actually be required to wear shoes...

track shoes are one thing.  they have spikes for speed...grip

big heeled running shoes are very unnatural.  while running is very natural.

i should mention i am talking about those crazy shocks shoes and others with tons of heel padding.  i have a nice flat pair of running shoes that would be fine for flatland.

those astronaut jets shoes are bad for running and flatland and ankles when rolled.

opinions of course....very researched opinions ;D .

main point is, i've rolled my ankle really bad in big heeled running shoes and wouldn't wish that on anyone!

I wish someone would make a running/bball shoe that had all that comfy arch and foot support for running & jumping, but then below that just had a simple, flat sole.

That would be perfect.

Iv ridden in cross trainers and it was hard. The small squares on the bottom are soft and will start to come off and the tire would slip under my feet when scuffing. The rubber is also a thin layer glued to foam which means with all the flex you get from standing on pegs and scuffing it will start to come unglued. I would have to say some sneakers or skate shoes would be the best. Also when you stand on the pegs it is more natural to stand on the ball of the foot and with the arch in the middle of the shoe you wouldn’t even use it. If you miss the ball of your foot and the shoe slips to the arch it can hurt and take you down.
