Flatland Shoes
« on: September 05, 2009, 05:01:35 AM »
I'm going to be buying a pair of shoes this weekend and I was wondering if theirs a type of shoe that works well with flatland.
I was looking at the DC Tactics(http://www.danscomp.com/723778.php?cat=SHOE) and DC Breaker(http://www.danscomp.com/723341.php?cat=SHOE) both BMX shoes,
then i decided to make a post to get some experienced flatlanders opinions, because I've been riding for about 2 years.
The pair of shoes I have right now are Globes and I've had them for 7 months and they have been pretty much destroyed for about 5 months now.
So I at least want a pair that will last me longer than that.

Hi, welcome to the forum.

try to use the search button before posting. there are a lot of trheads about shoes allready.
a lot of people will say addidas is good, some will call out some other brands. at the end you will have to choose for yourself. people on the internet don't know what you like in a shoe. what works for me does not automaticly work for you. some like thin soles, others thick...

Well to be honest over the year's I've skated, flatlanded, and rode a little dirt.. and globes have always been amazing skate shoes, but horrid to ride in. Personally I don't like the spongy feel of thin shoes, which is what you'll get with the adidas. They're great shoes, but flex a little too much on small pegs. DVS, and Etnies have pretty much been a prefered shoe of mine for years. Both make great shoes, that I don't burn through the tread in a month. DC's I've tried many times, and they kinda go both ways, I've gotten some very flimsy shoes from them, and others that worked well for me. But the all time best in my book was the etnies 'vesta', don't think they make them anymore, but any shoe with that tread pattern will last forever.

They stopped selling these at my store, but I still recommend Adio Kenny Anderson's if you can find them. Really good shoe that lasts. Stiff, comfy, good grip, light weight.

NIKE Air Flight 89's.
Don't bother with the Jordans, they are more of a casual shoe with an athletic shoe look.  I have a pair of those too and the sole cracked right on one of the flex areas.  I only rode in them a couple times and just wore them around.  WTF.  Sticking with the Nikes
