Great topic to keep posted for everyone, so I bumped it. I like my bike between 23 to 25 lbs., but I havent tried it any lighter, just alot heavier. My current set up is around 23 or 24 and it feels super light to me, I manipulate the bike more than just using momentum like with my older heavier bikes.
I'm actually considering adding a chromoly seatpost for a little more weight and durability.

also thinking about changing the helium in my tires for oxygen, just to keep it more stable ^_^

joshs.

how often do you have to refill your tires with the helium? cuz i have to repump with air every time i ride to keep 100psi in my tires

i estimate my bike to be about 26 lbs

I think my ride is about 22.5 or 23lbs...

What I don't think anyone has mentioned is the role geometry plays in how your bike feels. I rode a 26 pound Quamen G5 setup for years; it was stable and very well balanced for my build/body weight. However, when I took that same geometry (on a Suelo V2) and tried to ride it minus 4 or 5 pounds, I couldn't do it: it was way too twitchy and provided no counter-balance for my build. But after building up a longer more stable frame (Bowls 2) at the same weight (22.5 pounds), the bike became way more manageable. The longer TT and CS length compensated for the light weight by slowing the bike down (for lack of a better explanation).

So in short, if you shed a significant amount of weight off your bike, you may or may not want to consider a change in geometry as well if the weight loss makes the bike squirrely.
