contrary to popular belief  ( the following of new school trends )
scuffing has never fallen off.  footage of pro riders doing new styles has
chosen to leave out alot of scuffing things to stay edgy in the public eye
but I bet every pro rider out knows how to and needs to scuff things here and there.

it has been and will always continue to be a staple in flatland tricks.
with out scuffing - some tricks are impossible to gain speed
and or continue with a link.

pumping is not a "new"  thing either
both have their place in flatland
and both will continue on in the groth of tricks for us.

I have been and will continue to learn my scuffing abilitys even tho my feet are retarted
and dont want to follow comands to learn,   but im giving it a go still.
along with learning the ideal tequniques of pumping things and how all that works.
both are 100% nessary still
Old dudes can still rip

How can scuffing make a comeback when it never left?
Remember, grammar is the difference between "I helped my uncle Jack off a horse", and "I helped my uncle jack off a horse".

I just started getting into flatland stuff about 3 days ago and suck so far, I blame my sh*tty bike and lack of practice.

----So was Grasso in 88 1/2' or so (backyard style), and that hangnothing kid was doing hand-buzz front yards/hang5's as a joke then too ha-ha.

This is a bad idea because when riding outdoors your tyres pick up sharp bits of gravel, stones and just imagine a small bit of glass. Its an accident waiting to happen imo.

I tried to avoid it for along time(about 2 years).
Example being ; Doing a lard yard glide then scuffing out of it, or (what I like to call) a 1 kick completion "a safety push".

It really did hinder my riding,(sorta speak) but all in all, a lot of people can say scuffing looks "sketchy" when in fact I know I can do at least 3 tricks scuffing in the same position as gliding them "just as smooth".

By the way-scuffing doesn't have to be a stop/go type momentum for the wheel.

saying things like the above posts are broad opinions, but at the same time, hold some sort of stable validity(to the author(s) that has "tunnel vision perspective")

 So with that said;

It truly boils down to where you want your riding to go from where it is now, and where it was before.

It got trendy NOT to scuff that's what happened.

I think scuffing looks best when it is balanced and mixed into other links... but some riders just scuff the whole combo and to me that's too much.

A  lot of people that say scuffing sux can't scuff probably... it's not the easiest technique to learn. :)

I actually think riding looks way smoother with.

Id rather see someone scuff and halfpacker than wobble his ass off pump style look like a twat to gain speed thing.

Pumping ≠ smooth.

(Thats a does not equal sign, for anyone mathmatically illiterate.)
