Sam Foakes teaches kids flatland
« on: July 15, 2009, 09:40:17 PM »
Sam Foakes came to Bolton, UK to show his tricks to local teenagers as part of a national UK Government campaign to ensure kids have interesting things to do on Friday and Saturday evenings.

There is a short video on YouTube with some comments of Sam and Chris Massey.

So if you were wondering why Sam skipped the BMX Worlds last weekend here is the answer.

Chris Massey has done an amazing thing for these kids.  He has put in an incredible amount of time and energy to get a fleet of flatland bikes and a weekly indoor venue where these kids can ride-- all for no cost to them.

People ask on this forum "What is the future of Flatland?"

The future of flatland is in Bolton.

That is amazing.  If only that could be replicated here in the States.  Hmm, maybe it can!

Props to James Needham and Sam Foakes who have supported the High Rollers project since it started in 2007. Both have been a great inspiration to the kids and have gone beyond the call of duty by coaching kids, answering questions, putting on killer demos, and donating bikes and bits.
However, were not finished yet.... Sam and Mislav (owner of Zion Bikes) will be coming to Bolton again this week to help launch ANOTHER new flatland club for kids.
