Online Battle Superlatives

Most Drama Before A Battle (SurfonFlatland    vs    PrasheelG)

Most Drama After A Battle (Scott Ditchfield    vs    PrasheelG)

Maybe it's a Pralex thing, but drama just seems to follow me around, haha.

Prasheel, forget about the drama,
that was some of the best riding I've
seen man.  You and Alex progressed
sooooo much you two have become
intimidating to many.  Your kind of
superhero-ish qualities make you
a perfect target for celebrity/publicity
and the likes.  Good job on all those
hard tricks though man, CRAZY!

Scott Ditchfield signs out because of personal reasons.

PrasheelG takes an uncontested victory.

As Scott is out, then there is no one to battle for the third place, so

3rd place goes to Maxandre Congrats!

Final battle:

Nibbler

vs

PrasheelG

Time limit- 4 days(can have extra days)
Run limit is 1min 30sec

Come on! I want to see the best of you, no fooling around!

people vote for their friends and who they want to win. Not necessarily just on tricks.
I am sorry for you coz you will learn something now : myself and a lot of guys here (who already said that here, simply) vote only on tricks and for the guy who should win for that.
Personnaly I don't know any of the guys who participate on these battles and I voted on the tricks, just on the tricks. For that reason, I voted a lot of time for the London bikes guys (Nibbler and Scott Ditchfield) and sometimes I voted for other guys.

Your friend Scott is a great rider with dope riding but he was not the best on that battle for a lot of guys. I tell you that coz you obviously didn't read their opinions on posts they wrote. If you are a real reporter, that's a fault.

Revig, well said.

George,

The absurdity of your post is mind boggling really.  There was nothing in there that was relevant to the conversation at hand.

Besides, you forgot to note that Scott has been riding since I was in diapers.  While I don't really understand how or why this is important (most likely because it isn't), you bitter oldschool guys just love to bring it up in almost any debate.

I love how you refer to yourself as a reporter, then claim your speculation on a hypothetical situation is a fact.  Do let me know where I can find more of your work; I'm always in need of a good laugh.

Please find my posts that insinuate or imply that I'm a better rider than Scott, as I'm very interested to find out why you're so fueled up for this argument.

May I suggest you take your own advice and go out to ride and hop or scuff or do whatever it is you're working on.

My Dear Canuck,

My statement has nothing to do with old school and nothing to do with bitterness.

I'm always stoked to see great riders advancing, you included. I mean no disrespect to individuals by anything I'm saying.

and as for my user name 'Global-Flat-Reporting'. It's just a name.

Flatland is strictly recreation for me and pretty much everyone else I know.

People come to Global to see what's going on in the community and to enjoy themselves.
Drama and 'beefs' make our users much more likely to go elsewhere or quit Global completely.  I'm tired of seeing this stuff

As a contributor to this site and a long time member of the BMX community.. I state my opinions openly..not from bitterness, but from two decades in the sport and over a decade working in pro sports media.

Still just an opinion.

what I state here is my personal opinion, and does not come from any official or journalistic point of view.

best wishes to anyone who rides a BMX bike..whether for fun or for a living.

end of discussion

Loving the change of tone and attitude, George!
(while this sounds sarcastic, it isn't meant to be)

I will point out a few things though...

My statement has nothing to do with old school and nothing to do with bitterness.
I've been riding with Scott since 1989. Although Prasheel may have pulled some more advanced combos, Scott rides every day, for pay, and his consistency shows that.

I mean no disrespect to individuals by anything I'm saying.
Scott would drive Prasheel face deep into the pavement on tricks, PERIOD

and what I state here is my personal opinion
Superfact

Not saying that Prasheel isn't pro or whatever..just stating a FACT.

You also say you're tired of seeing the drama and beefs (because it might drive riders out of flatland), but you unnecessarily came in to this thread, with guns blazing, taking shots at me.

Again though, I'm asking you to show me my posts that imply I'm a better rider than Scott.  In your first post, that's basically what you're arguing against...except noone (including) myself once said anything related to such.

On a side note, its a damn shame that you use these online battles as a popularity contest or to boost your friends' egos.  Especially since you have 'Global Flat' in your name, it just goes to show how this whole place is going to sh*t.

So Disapointing.......

I have been following the battles for awhile now. Such a cool idea, props to Ondo for taking the time to do something awesome like this. I feel really bad for him because he is only trying to do what is right and fair. I hope Ondo that you wont be discouraged because of this, I think its pretty obvious that these battles are having a really positive affect on a lot of riders. Just watching Prasheels level of tricks in the last year is so awesome!!!

As far as what happened I had a feeling something like this was going to happen. I just figured it would be a begginer kid...... I mean techniclly you guys didnt break any rules but I think its pretty obvious what you guys did and to be honest the fact that you did it to a guy who actually rides in the am class is pretty pathetic.

And as far as the comments about Scott being able to wipe the floor with Prasheel......wow.
Congratulations. A guy who rides in the pro class and rides for a living can beat an am rider. Its too bad there are no pro battles.....

On a side note maybe we can have a team battle to decide things.Team Pralex vs team LondonBikes. lol. Hopefully things will get worked out for the next round of battles and maybe we can have a pro class   ;D

Especially since you have 'Global Flat' in your name, it just goes to show how this whole place is going to sh*t.

Prasheel, he is a reporter for global bringing in stories and photos. They were his viewpoints, not the entire websites.

You feel the whole place going to sh*t because of whats happened. There are flaws in the judging system. We all know that. Now everyone in this community has a chance and a voice to decide on the new method of voting. We want it to be fair. We want everyones input into the new judging system so this won't be an issue again.

Ask yourself, have you progressed because of these battles? Have most participating in the battles progressed? Yes. No one can take that away from any of you. You are all winners.

Its onwards and upwards from here Prasheel. Don't be bitter. Practice more for the next series. A series with more reliable voting. Superfact, everyone who entered these battles deserves full props and congrats on the huge effort, and particularly everyone who entered the experts and masters classes, all the runs were outstanding. Full respects to everyone.

Please everyone, stop all the hatin'. ;)

Regardless of stats or alleged cheating or whatever..for anyone to sit here and make a judgement on either rider from a one-off two minute video segment is ignorant.

There is no way for the online battles to be truly fair, because a poll is simply a popularity contest. And regardless of what anyone says..contest judges included.. some people vote for their friends and who they want to win. Not necessarily just on tricks.

I've been riding with Scott since 1989. Although Prasheel may have pulled some more advanced combos, Scott rides every day, for pay, and his consistency shows that.

Scott's segment was shot in minimal takes over the course of about 30 minutes.

Not only that, but head to head on open concrete, trick for trick..for some length of time more than two minutes...

Scott would drive Prasheel face deep into the pavement on tricks, PERIOD

sometimes you posters/posers sound like chicks as much as you bitch.

Now, sign off, STFU,  and go riding.

thanks

I like the short videos. I think they are short because they are easy to make, upload, watch, ETC
We vote for the best video, with the best tricks in it. We dont vote for the person that we have seen do better tricks in the past.

This whole thread should be f*cking locked :S
