karl kruiser help
« on: May 13, 2009, 03:35:49 AM »
I used the search and couldnt find a specific answer.

i can hang 5 but i cant karl krusier, the biggest problem i have is my left arm, i watched bobby caters video and he says to pull the handle bar towards the seat, i use the left peg and when i pull my hand as hard as i could toward the seat it still doesnt hold or if i pull it too hard i just steer the front wheel to the left and crash terribly..

i found it easier to push my hand down from the top of the handle bar towards the seat but i noticed my right balance leg is crossing past my left foot and i cant hold it steady on the right side..

any suggestions?

i know i can balance this trick cause howi canbalance hang 5a but i just cant find a way to counter this front wheel its killing me! im 5'11 and i can figure out how my long ass arms can hold this wheel still

I can only ride karl's if my bars are backwards.

something about the reach of my bars being backwards
helps my balance point.

are your forks 0 offset or minimal ?   I run 0.  I think it helps this trick.

a tip that helped me when I first started trying them was putting the thumb out on the bar, pointing at the other grip; instead of gripped underneath. It adds quite a bit of stability and makes the trick easier to hold, especially at first when the position feels crazy and wrong.  -_-

The pointing thumb helps a lot and going in circles instead of a straight line.

true.  Keep your thumb extended and use it as leverage on the bars.
pay attention to the heatube angle.  Just like the hang 5, the bars need to be pretty far forwards to keep it going.  When your in the middle of it notice your hand holding the seat and the height of the seat in relation to the body.  It helps to hold it solid in that spot.  If you aren't kinda semi pulling up on the seat, holding it there, making it easier to push the bars down, it gets harder to control.

As for your leg, it will come with practice.  See what happens when you kind of kick it up and out backwards behind you.

try stepping into it and then try pulling around into it from a regular steam.
