Inertia Fork for street\park?
« on: April 03, 2009, 04:27:04 AM »
i am shopping for parts and came across the Inertia Fork . i am going to get a 26mm offset stem so i figured i would go "zero" on the forks! i think flatland parts are so ahead of the game when compared to the street\dirt\park seen.

my question is.....will this be ok for street\park use? i mainly ride park and am somewhat smooth but you know how that goes!

I wouldn't use em...not bad forks, just not designed for street or park.

Why ask if a product designed for one specific purpose is going to be able to do somthing compeletly different?

I'm also willing to bet you'll be the same person who comes on bitching that their fork has snapped after riding heavyily on it.

Inertia parts are designed for expereienced flatland riders who are dialled, not beginners who want to huck down a 7 set.

What you said about flatland parts being "so ahead" is compeletly wrong, some of the tech that goes into street componants these days is amazing.

wow ! at least i know what to expect from this forum  i say good things about flat and get called a  "beginner who wants to huck down  7 sets" did i ever say anything about stairs?.......naw (i dont even do rails anymore) i mainly ride park and do wreck sometimes, but everyone has a few.man i was thinkin this forum was awesome but now reading through some of the threads people seem to hate newcomers.how is the place supposed to grow if you downgrade change? i will not read into the immaturity too far though. i like bikes nomatter what kind . now it seems flat vs. street\park is the same as bike vs. skate..........why?

i have talked to a few people and they have concluded that the forks will be fine (i dont weigh 500lbs)

thank you for the positive feedback  from those who gave it

I ride park with my flatland bike from time to time when im bored,
or one of the park kids decides to challange me to something other than flat.

I got to say,   air above coping with 0 offset forks is crazy.

I use tanakas,  probly the worst fork to ride anything but flat with,
but so far so good.   I try and stay as smooth as possible tho.

side note - im using season lemerk stem - 35mm reach with bars slightly fowards just a tad
on my 0 offset fork,   and it feels verry natural to me.

actually after riding 0 offset for over a year now,   I cant seem comftorble on any fork with any kind of offset - minimal to full -   0 feels amazing to me.
maby im weird tho.

Do you not think its a silly question?

You wouldn't go onto a Mini Cooper forum and ask if the car will cope with some "light offroading" - so why ask if flatland specific forks are going to take "light street"?

Answer is, no - they are not designed for that use. They might take the odd hop and whatnot but eventually you will break them as they are not designed to take "light street" abuse.

you should consider odyssey minimal offsets  if you really want to go with  flat forks..
