New Zion worldwide stem
« on: March 16, 2009, 09:15:45 AM »
Hey guys,

I would like to present you a new flatland stem that we produced that I've been testing for almost 2 years now. The name we choose for it is WORLDWIDE stem, hehe. I think that name represents is really well and those prototypes really traveled around the world on my bike in last 2 years, so they deserved the name.

This stem has a self clamping design, so it only uses 4 bolts on front plate, has a minimum reach (28mm), made fully by CNC machine from 6061 T6 AL. Comes in these 3 beautiful colors on photo: anodized black, anodized red and polished silver. The weight of it is only 160g (5.78 oz).

Hope you like it . It is available for order from today, so give it few weeks until you find it in shops.

check it out here :  www.zionbmx.com

I'm going to write somthing serious now.

On closer inspection I really like this design - there is nothing at the back to twat my knees on, its just all smooth which looks dope.

Also, it looks quite a substantial piece of metal, as in - not week as piss. I think I would actually buy this if I needed a stem. And thats saying somthing. I've ridden the same first gen Camacura one pretty much forever up untill last year when Badman offered me the 2nd gen one really cheap...

Yes, I 100% agree.  Every stem I have owned destroys my legs.  Not from hitting my knee off of it, but mostly doing stuff with steamboats, the back of my leg rubs against the stem and it literally just slices up my legs, but I don't think this stem would.  Very nice.

I always ask myself: Why do people put protection over the stem??? How come I never hurt my legs???
...I have been riding the prototype for ages now...and I think thats why hehe

wow... its damn beautiful. Does the self clamping mechanism hold? I'd be worried it would slip somewhat

hehe, glad you like it....

to answer some of your questions:

sorry , but this year all this new products we produce come in these 3 colors, so it will match those.
New production of headsets will also be in these colors soon.

I was really skeptic about self clamping also when designing it. That is why we gave it such a long time for testing. It never gave me problems with that, so I'm really glad.
It is because it holds the steerer tube and the handle bar with maximum surface, unlike some stems. So it reduces the chance of slipping to the minimum. And also not clamping in or ovalizing your tubes.
