UPDATE:
a
4 minute video
is now online:
Austin Jam Video
Last weekend a
big jam
took place in
Austin, Texas, USA
. George was there to cover it for Global-Flat!

If there is a modern day version of York in the progression of flatland, the Texas scene is certainly in contention for the title. Some of the best riders to ever grace BMX have made Texas their home..

This was a great weekend...even though I was the worst rider in the garage. So many riders with incredible skills.

i think i take the "worst rider at the OG" for the jam, but holy f*ck was it fun, great turnout and great spot, worth the 38 hour drive. rode with Frost today on the island which was funny as hell. i think i speak on behalf of the 3 canadian riders in saying "Texas is awesome"
also, everclear is the greatest american alcohol of all time.

I really miss living in Austin. Such a close community of riders.

We're having a great time. Half the group just took off for Dallas to watch a hockey game, but myself (Prasheel) and Dylan are still in town. We're leaving tomorrow to head to Athens, but I'll be hitting the garage for my last time ever (possibly) tonight...so hope to see some of you out there.

Sorry to have to bump this thread up after so long, but I can't help but say that this was a truly awesome vid. The editing was nic and the transitions from song to song were smooth
Mark, (or anyone else for that matter)
could you post up a list of all the songs from this vid? There are quite a few that I really liked!
Cheers!

glad you guys dig it..that garage is a really cool set. As for the tracks they are mostly remixes but here's the basics: opening graphics is a clip from Beastie Boys: Paul's Boutique..the next clip is a remix of a Feist track from the remix album Open Season. Third up is the DJ Danger Mouse's version of Encore by JayZ. It's from the mashup album The Grey Album. Next track is a snippet from a remix by Z-Trip, next up is a snippet from the song Born Slippy, by Underworld from the Trainspotting soundtrack.. and the video ends up with the closing bars of Stairway To Heaven covered by Rodrigo y Gabriella.
A version of the Austin Jam will eventually be available on DVD along with the other events I've covered this year. I've been watching the rough cut of the DVD and this footage was made for TV playback. Flatland looks sick on the big screen.
