I've got a question. ;D In order to start learning halfpacker, do I have to learn something else? Crackpackers maybe?

Working on halfpackers and some other stuff today. I rolled a few hang10s for 30-40ft but I didn't get that on video. I hurt my foot doing the tailwhip thing, my foot has been messed up since January when I hurt it learning footjam decades and I keep re-injuring it. It seems like I can't have a month of riding without my knees dislocating or my foot getting hurt b ut atleast I had a good session today. Anybody have any tips for riding into a halfpacker from a barhop and riding out??

One thing that I am sure has been mentioned a lot: on any rolling trick, the faster you roll the easier it is to hold the balance point. Of course how scary the trick is and how badly you can slam increase too, but your better off with a little more speed than your comfortable with.

MarylandFlat try the half packers with a touch more speed. If you watch your edit, notice how you are going quite a bit faster on hikers than you are half packers. I know I had to do them with more speed to get them and remembered that again now that I am relearning them.

Then again I can see why you might be intentionally going slower to save that ankle. No matter what speed you go, if you end up having to fall backwards and have to catch yourself, you could seriously jack it up worse. Still I think your better off with more speed in the long run.

Go see a doctor about that ankle though and really take the advice even if you can't ride at all for a month or two. It would bum me out if you had to quit because that ankle got permanently jacked up. I know you would be too. Take care of yourself man!

Thanks for the advice Jake. After watching the video I notced that I was rolling pretty slow, next time I am able to ride I will try them with a little more speed. Hopefully it won't take too long for my foot to heal.
