Today's Riding: video version
« on: January 31, 2009, 04:01:29 AM »
    I was thinking about bmxfreestyler.com 's Today's Riding thread today.  For years now it's motivated me and kept me pulling for my fellow riders.  For about a year, I've taken it to the next level and shooting vids once a week to keep a record of progress, failures, and what tricks I'm doing and working on.  It has helped my riding a tremendous amount!

    As an experiment, and possibly new direction, I'd like to try to create a spot here to post practice videos.  Riders, both new and seasoned can post current videos showing what they're doing right this very day.  Readers are encouraged to give feedback, tips, kudos, whatever.  I thought this could be a great motivator to the forum if "average joe flatlander" had a place to post up and just show what they're doing, good or bad, in hopes of added motivation, self confidence, and progression.  I know there's a lot of guys working on stuff in weird spots this winter; so I look forward to seeing what ya'll are doing. Come on guys, you have a bike, shoot a vid of you riding! Not just for us, but for your own progress  -_-

I'll start. This video is from today's riding at the spot in my 'hood.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

This video is new stuff I'm working on, so it's of course kind of sketchy.

This month, I learned Hang 5's! So I managed to get one Hang 5 to steam on film. I didn't want to press my luck, so I just set it down. (stoked)  Today, Karl's felt solid, my knee was cool. I got a handful of jugglers to a couple different things, and I was very stoked on that.  I'm still smack dab in the middle of the hitchiker pump. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. gulp.
cheers!

Hey Prana!!! This is Cesar from H-Town.  I will start filming tomorrow.  I think your idea is awesome.  You are really progressing, looks like your going to give me and the rest of the expert class a run for our money at VooDoo this year.  Can't wait.  I will post my new trick I'm working on.  Thanks for the motivation.  See Ya.

Hrmmm.... Sounds like a new thread idea worth doing! I'll try to film some of my session stuff this weekend.

Let me get this straight though, you learned turbined hikers before you learned hang 5s?

Well, technically I'm still 'working' on the hikers but yes. I know. It's been an embarrassing detail for awhile now. I've finally hammered down and just learned the thing.

bamp

no vids? nothing? wow. dissapointing.
 :huh:

Last night I had a pretty good ride. I felt unusually strong for some reason. My 'bad' knee was feeling really solid and not bugging me.  much less karl kruiser mess-ups than normal (thank GAWD); I got my first clean double juggler out of the deal too :).  I'm starting to figure it out, little by little. I can't wait to ride today!
*my camera was destroyed after my original post. I'm working on getting a new one to keep doing riding journals. Watching vids of my own riding is helping me make corrections and progress must faster than without.
