As far as getting into them goes, there are a ton of options none of which I can really discuss without going into great detail and it wouldn't do you any good since you can't do them all that well to begin with.

I learned them by stepping into them and pushing off. What I would suggest you do is scuff them to get them rolling and just hold on for as long as you can. Keep doing this over and over until you can do them pretty much as long as you want. The goal is to get comfortable in the trick and the only way to do that is to just keep pegging away until you are comfortable in the balance point.

Thanks. I appreciate it. Hopefully when it stops snowing I can finally learn these.

Here is some progress. You can check the first video on page 2 to see how far i've gone in just a few days, thanks to what, and to good ole hard work.

and

You can see a sloppy ass halfhiker at the end of the 2nd video. Any tips are welcomed, im really in a rut on those mfer's. I can get into them, i can feel a balance point ...maybe one out of 20 tries...I just cant GET it.

You are nowhere near relaxed enough. Bend your knees more and stop being so tense. It's only going to be more difficult when you tighten up like you are.

Dear sir,

I really only do them from hang 5s but basically I learned how to do rolling boomerangs with both wheels on the ground into hikers first, then years later learned them from hang 5s and pedal hang 5s. So... start with just doing them with both tires on the ground and pulling up into a hiker when you get around to the other side.

Essentially when you are boomeranging "into" a hiker you're only halfway boomeranging into it, and the other half is you pulling the seat towards your body to drop into the hiker.

Anyway, try what I said about both wheels on the ground first.

I've made it a point to try both. Some foty i did yesterday show's me bending my knee's abit more (atleast, its not pegleg like above!), and im only going to feel...and look...relaxed when I become naturally better at the trick.

The point I wanna make here is that since you and I started talking you've made some real progress with it and I'm very proud of you :)

i cant get video yet (will get some soon!) but I am trying to spin/turbine fwd steams into backwards steams back to fwd. and i roll fwd then carve, as the carve gets tight I scuff tire to spin and fall off everytime.  i think it is where my feet and (which I know I need video for)  anyways, if I tap down I can keep the spin going a bit but don't know what to do to ride out?

also, I am wondering how to spin a bkwd hiker or half hiker??  i flip into a hiker and want to pivot a 180 spin, then 180 spin to get fwd then back bkwd real quick but can't do it for the life of me..... ahhh nuts I need video!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anything is normal as long as you feel that it's normal.

Alright I know how that sounds so don't take that statement and run with it. I don't want to hear that some guy went on a child molestation spree because I gave him advice that enabled him to come to terms with it.
