Who has the lightest ?
« on: December 22, 2008, 08:25:22 PM »
A couple of days ago you read about the new Ares Ay Spear frame. I wrote itīs going to be the lightest frame on the market but it turns out that KHEīs Paris III is going to be lighter than they expected. The final weight is 1.48kg / 3.262lbs. So itīs 20g / 0.7 ounces lighter than the Ay Spear. Thatīs for example as much as 2 tablespoons of butter ;-)

Check out the latest photos: Paris III.

I really want one of these companies to send me either of these frames to see how long it holds up. I'd love to see how quick I could break one of these.

I'd bet money that you couldn't break the Ares.

I would!! I've been known to be somewhat of a dick at times. Haha

3.26lbs... I agree with bmx4lif....snap crackle pop. That's too light and probably too short for MOST riders over 5' tall. I just had Pete Brandts old frame, the red KGB from the calendar in my hands and it's got a nice stress crack where the downtube meets the BB. Seems like a flawless design and it's toast as far as any skilled rider is concerned. There has got to be some thing there to make it stronger or sh*t will eventually BREAK.

How much? I know I could break it. Just depends on how long it would take.

You know not what you say.Dude could break a triple-thick Standard Shorty with extra gusseting if he out his mind to it.

maybe one of those companies can say, "hey, we've made a frame that is strong." and good.

T.J....mentally when would the " this bike is light as f*ck!" come into play along side the whoppers? I honestly think this is 1 trick that is done way too many times by 14yr old kids @ the park!  lol....

I'm not sure what you're asking me here? I want to learn whoppers, but it will break any frame that I try it on within a few weeks.
