Little nub with chain tensioner?

I ordered a set of Odyssey chain tensioners and got em in the mail today. 

Each tensioner comes with two different size bolts , and also what appears to be a little nub or part of a bolt.

Anyone know what that nub is?  Something useful, or just garbage?  At a glance, it looks like it might be the portion that was cut off of one bolt to make it shorter than the other.  But I wasn't sure.

if it screws onto the tensioner then its probably a bolt cover to keep the sharp edges covered??

Ah, I think AK is correct: probably an anti-spin pin for the street riders.  Thanks for the replies.
