Damn, Mike S's combo is a tank! THe new version is lighter though...

Anyway, with a stem+bar you can always have a spare bar/stem in case one of them is history in the other hand that won't do with a combo, you mess one thing up you screwed until you get a new combo...

I like the heavy version.  It's so strong that it's almost impossible to break, but because you don't have a stem seperate from the bars, it's still as light/lighter than most handlebars with the stem seperate.
