free coasters are good for peddle placement. i ride with one because of that and i dont like the crank spinning around when i do tricks cause it messes me up

you dont need freecoaster to do some tricks. but when i got mine i loved it. now it is a lot of money but if you feel that you want to spend a lot of money on your bike, like $150 range, spend it on a freecoasting back wheel. it is really fun once you get the hang of em.
Where did you steal your bike from?

i just hate it when the pedals move or hit my shins

you dont NEED one but it helps alot on back wheel tricks.

also, a freecoaster dosent need to be expensive,
you can buy a TASKA or a coaster hub and modify it.

but a freecoaster is sometimes needed to frontwheel trick also.. for example when you do a hichiker you grab the wheel and you move it backwards to get it to the right position and this can cause your crank spin... this happened to me a few times (even tough i have a freecoaster) and it made me foul to the pedal...
plus i like that flatbikes are so silent with freecoasters i can't stand the noise of a steet hub -_-
