OG kun fu frame!!

hey has anyone broke an og frame?

I cracked mine through the downtube and through the top tube around the head tube. Apparently quite a few people have done that by the time I had broken mine, and nobody ever told me about it.

I have a picture after I tried to get it welded, but not before sadly.

It cracked through the weld too.

I've heard a lot of argument for and against rewelding a frame.... a trials rider at this bike shop I used to work at told me frames weren't rewelding because if it gets to the point of cracking... rewelding wont do much because the metal tubes in other spots of the frame have given in to stress enough to let that happen... so its just going to keep happening, cause your not fixing why it cracked... and it really doesn't buy you that much more time on a frame either...

At the time it gave me enough time to scrap together some cash to come up with enough money to buy a new frame, which is all I really needed. I won't do it in the future though. It's just not worth it.

They did and I'm extremely thankful for that and always will be. I've just heard of this frame breaking in the exact same spot on a number of riders bikes all over the place.

All I know is that TJ should just by my 19TT" SC aqueduct and forget about cracking a frame for a while. I mean have you ever heard about a cracked SC frame?
