There was a contest in chicago that got rained out, and I believe he ended up taking pretty much all the parts for the contest for himself. I could be mistaken though.

This is how rumors are born.

I'm starting to notice a pattern with the instigators.

Well if you knew who told me this, then you would most likely reconsider what you just said here considering his stature in the global flatland community.

congratulations for how long you kept the site and everybody who  worked on this.
This site got me serious into flatland because before there were only magazines like ride bmx.

There's still plenty of tF.com content available through archive.org's ''Wayback Machine,'' just type in theflatlander.com at the url below:
http://web.archive.org/

It's a little clumsy to navigate through, but depending on what year/date you browse, many photos are there, and practically all the interviews, reviews, write ups, etc.

Actually it was the promotions company that kept all the product. Brian tried to get it back but to no avail. I lost $300 in shirts, Quamen lost a frame and a whole bunch of other stuff. Brian was bummed but the event was not 100% him.

As noted by Brian's posts, he is still around. Obviously he is not doing theflatlander.com anymore though. I still miss that site and miss working with Brian on things!

Hell, knowing what I know now about BMX in general and flatland in particular, I would guess that most of those people are either dead or living under a bridge somewhere now.  Flatland's not known for it's great 401(k) plan.
