Trinidad bike project!
« on: August 08, 2008, 03:04:37 PM »

OK folks, after seeing this bike of GF member sickwitit, I decided to try and help by sending him a load of parts. But I need some help to finish it.
I sent, frame, forks, cranks, bb set, bars, grips and bar ends.

Items I'm after...stem, headset, wheels, pegs, seat, post n clamp, sprocket, pedals, chain, tyres and tubes.
If you have even one of these items, could you help a brother out please?   ;D
Shipping on one item is OK, but a whole bikes weight becomes a joke.

Shipping costs from North America, South America and the Carribean will be cheaper, so can those people in these regions look n see what you have spare?  Thanx guys, remember, flatland is a small global community.  Lets help out a little in the Carribean nation of Trinidad and Tobago.

Yes Trevlon is from Trinidad, but he can't be expected to supply his whole countries flatlanders with complete bikes. He may be able to give a part or two, but its a poor nation, and his handouts would have to be limited.  -_-

Thanx for the comments ppl.  I have had some pm's for help, so thanx for that and you can pm me or sickwitit to see whats left to finish this project.

Thanx again, Karl.

Yes, thanx Ali. That would be cool.
I'd really like Sickwitit to post some riding pics, to get a little bit more support. We've had a few offers, but not nearly enough to finish.

Keep looking ppl, there may be one single part you dont use, and dont want.   ;D

Now thats what I'm talkin about!!  A flatlander making the most of what he's got.  Please ppl, help me finish this project.  Help another flatlander out.  Take a look in your garage, you might have a spare seatpost, a chain, hell even a seatclamp.  One small item wont cost you the earth to post to the Carribean, but will make a big difference to completion.   -_-

I have stem, tyres and tubes pending, and a bit more pending that may eventuate over the next few days, so I'm looking for a headset, a seat, a post, a clamp, pedals, pegs and chain.
Also, if anyone has a front or rear wheel going cheap, please pm sickwitit.

Thanx for the help, Karl.

ive got an old freecoaster rear wheel thats in Ok shape.

the chrome is peeling, its a 48h, and it might need the spokes tightened up too. afaik its still true.

$25 + shipping. id recomend someone in the states taking delivery and going over it before you send it to trinidad. i think its got a 15t sprocket with snap ring style attachment. its a 3/8th axle with 14mm adaptors too...

front wheel with sh*t chrome and a ratcheting hub. hub may be salvageable. slotted 14 mm axle.

ive also got a kink 36t chainwheel layin around if i can find it.

a primo viking seat post clamp.

and odyssey strong island pegs.

just bought replacements and i doubt anyone is interested in paying money for any of them.

Thanks for the help people. Ive pm'd about the wheel and pegs.

Does anyone have a cheap freecoaster for sale with a 9t or 11t driver?

So far, we have pending, tyres, tubes, stem, seatclamp, pedals, pegs.

Items still needed, integrated headset, chain, sprocket{pref 20 -26t}, seat, and seatpost.
Again, feel free to pm sickwitit or myself.

Thanx everyone. We are slowly getting there, still a little more help needed.

Aah, thanks for that Levi. A generic seat and post is great. I'll pm you now. Thanx!!

We now have pending, seat, post, clamp, pedals, tyres, tubes and stem, from memory.

We still need a headset, smallish sprocket and chain.

The wheels are going to be more difficult to get, because its not cheap to ship them or buy them, but if anyone has a spare front hub, or decent rims you can donate, it would be gold.
I think its going to be easier to find a hub here or there, and same with a rim, then he can build them in Trinidad.

Thanks for the global support peeps!
