invest in some nice tire levers from your local bike shop or flatlandfuel. everyrider should have a set in their tool kit. thank me later when tire mounting and removal will be MUCH easier than spoons!

Detailed Description
Put away those screwdrivers and spoons and start using these tire levers to remove and install tires. They will not damage your rim nor puncture tubes. Much safer than dads old screwdriver and spoons! Set of 3.

once the tyers on the rim inflate slowly stoping every 10psi and check for bulges if one apears deflate a little and push it back on the rim, and repeat....

once the tires on, before inflating just check to see if the tube isnt trapped between the walls of the tire and rim. do this for both sides and it only takes about a min :)

was lazy and forgot too when building my unbike up, thankfully i noticed the bulge before the tube went boom

I agree to all said above,  but I only use muscle power to get the tire over the rim.

5 to 10psi is all that is needed to fill tire at first. - this is important as its hard to work the tire in if there is more psi that that.

then give tire a spin,  to notice how it has "hops" in it.    grab tire and mussle the low areas up higher,   and if ther is any realley high up areas,   try and stuff them back in the rim a little.

the goal is to get the tire as even across as possible all the way around the rim.

once you think its good,  then inflate to 65psi - and go for a quick ride,  like 2 min or something,   to seat the tire to the rim,   then come back in and pump up to 100+ psi.
enjoy your smooth rolling tires now!

one thing to remember about the park tire levers is that they are designed to break before they damage your rim or tube. There is definitely a technique involved in mounting a tight fitting high pressure tire. Lots of practice. Once you are good at it you will rarely break tire levers.

yes i should have known better i agree, the tire area left to put on the rim was so small that the fact the lever fit in just made the tire go away from the rim.

now i just use 2 tiny screwdrivers, they are blunt so dont hurt the tube and tiny so the tire comes out/in very easily, bit by bit 5 mins
