HELLO CHARLIE,The difference is weight as you have a thinnner tubing usedand the new style double over technique is used as seen in both KGB and a Bad Thing and many others in the gusset.THE G-3 I BELIEVE WAS 5.1 AND THE G-7 IS A LIGHT 4.2IN POUNDS SO YES THERE IS A ALOT OF WEIGHT DIFFERENCES.there is also the back triangle is different as there are more holesand optimal use of the dropouts in saving of weight..most importantfrom the G-5 on, they went from a 76.5 headtube angle to an 75 head-tube angle and i neverr liked the 76.5 and neither did alot of the riders.i have been riding Quamen's for a long time and i supposely supposeto get the new Quamen whejn it comes out as Anthony suppose to getahold of me but that frame is like 3.8 pounds.THE FORK YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT, THE ST MARTIN IS A HEAVY FORKAND I HAVE ODYSSEY PRO FLATLAND FORKS, which are 4.2 pounds and iwant to get my bike to around 21.5 pounds.i ride with Jesse P., Pete B., and Mikey and their bikes are 19.5, 20.5 and 20.75 pounds and i like the feel of their bikes. IT IS JUST THE MATTER THATTHE LIGHTER THE BIKE THEN IT IS EASIER TO MANEUVER AND FLIP,BODYVARIAL ETC ON.i guess if you are so use to having an heavy bike that you dont know betterbut if you rode an bike like one of our bikes then you would understand whati am talking about and i ride with riders that really like fast, light bikes that youcan do flips, body varials, crounching tigers etc on etc.......you need to come outand stay at the house and ride with us at the Clocktower and ride one of our bikesto know what i am talking about!
